'Aaranya Kaandam' re-releasing in big theatres in USPGV [ Sun, Mar 25, 2012 ]
- 'Aaranya Kaandam' team is buoyed up by the national recognition it got recently. It won two honours on the National Awards. Thiagarajan Kumararaja who made his directorial debut with this film bagged the most efficient First Film of a Director award. Praveen K.L. and Srikanth received the award for the most efficient editing.
The two national honours set producer S.P. Charan thinking on how best to make the movie a biggie. He envisages releasing the film for a much wider part of the audience within the America. Confirming this Charan said,"We are releasing the film within the US in big screens again by the following week. Plans are on for a similar" Charan could also be examining the choice of releasing the film again in Tamil Nadu.
'Aaranya Kaandam', starring Ravi Krishna, Jackie Shroff, Sampath and Yasmin, also won the Grand Jury Award in South Asian International Film Festival held in The big apple last year.
The film, set within the backdrop of North Chennai, deals with drug trafficking.
