Jayachitra plays CM in 'Vanayudham'PGVÂ [ Mon, Mar 5, 2012 ]
- Veteran actress Jayachitra can be playing the role of Chief Minister Jayalalithaa in A.M.R. Ramesh's 'Vanayudham', which depicts the lifetime of forest brigand Veerappan.
Director Ramesh, who has completed a protracted schedule of shooting for the film, has confirmed the featuring Jayachitra because the Chief Minister within the biopic.
It was during Jayalalithaa's chief ministership that a special task force headed by Director General of Police Vijayakumar were constituted to trace down the marauding sandalwood smuggler and elephant poacher. The operation left Veerappan dead ending the reigning of terror by the feared forest brigand over the decades.
Arjun plays DGP Vijayakumar. A FEW associates of Veerappan are also cast within the film.
Referring to Veerappan's wife Muthulakshmi's apprehensions that the film would show her husband in bad light, Ramesh reportedly said the film would just show facts as they're and finally there are the Censors who will decide. He claims "Jayalalithaa maam has learnt about it (film) already."
According to him, 96 per cent of the shooting have been completed. The film could be wrapped up by March 10.
