Review – Manam Kothi Paravai

Can Siva Karthikeyan pull it off as a solo hero? This was the question doing rounds within the minds of 1 and all. Here comes Manam Koththi Paravai and Siva Karthikeyan pass out in flying colours.

Directed by Ezhil, who made films like Thullatha Manamum Thullum, Poovellam Un Vasam and Deepavali, is back after a break, to render an engrossing entertainer.

The movie is more a fusion of romance and comedy. A stupid act by friends, lands a couple of in trouble. How they overcome it forms the crux.

Music is scored by D Imman while cinematography is by Suraj Nallusamy. Besides Siva Karthikeyan, the movie has Athmiya,. Parotta Suri, Singam Puli, Ilavarasu, Ravi Mariya, Srinath, Chaams among others.

Kannan (Siva Karthikeyan) who's an effortless guy in a village loves his neighbour Revathy (Athmiya), who family is dreaded by all within the village. They let their fists to do all of the talking. Kannan’s father (Ilavarasu) is a building contractor.

Kannan’s friends (Parotta Suri, Singam Puli and Deiva Thirumagan Kishore) decie to get him united with Revathy. Unfortunately her wedding gets fixed with a influential man within the neighbouring village and the chums have little time to grasp their mission. They take the help
Enters Kannan’s friends from Mumbai (Sreenath and Chams). They kidnap Revathy and all troubles begins. What happens then forms the riveting climax.

Siva Karthikeyan does a good job. His comic acts wins applause. He's cool and casual. Athmiya is comfortable before the lens. The on-screen chemistry is sweet. She has an immense scope within the film.

Singam Puli, Parota Suri, Srinath, Vennira Aadi Murthy, Ravi Mariya, Vanitha among others play their part well.

Imman’s songs especially Po Po Po and Oorana Oorukulae deserve a different mention. Suraj Nallusamy’s camera captures secenes well.

Ezhil’s strength lies in strong story blended with humour. So is Manam Koththi Paravai. It will give one a feel of deja vu at places, but all is easily and that ends well.
